Marimekko Unikko 50 years.

Maija Isola´s classic pattern was born in 1964 after Armi Ratia, Marimekko´s founder, had announced that Marimekko would never print a flower pattern. Maija refused to obey Armi´s orders and – in protest- created an entire series of gorgeous floral prints. One of them was Unikko.

 

In collaboration with Marimekko i made this styling to celebrate their classic poppy print Unikko turning 50 years! I think its so beautiful to stack porcelain and this is the preparations for a summery garden afternoon party. Maybe with some fresh poppy´s at the table…
